Class Descriptions for 2012

All of our classes are suitable for the beginner or advanced Yoga student.  We are trained to help modify within any of our classes to help individualize for the student to progress within the class. Our Studio focuses mostly on Hatha Yoga discipline which emphasizes on therapeutic breath work, gentle and or more active movement known as Yoga postures or asanas. All of our classes help to restore flexibility, range of motion, muscle strength, self esteem, increased blood circulation, better balance and posture. Feelings of stress are often lifted.  We close each yoga class with  a healing guided meditation.

Energizing Flow Yoga:   This energy boosting class will feed your mind and physical body with calming energy. We combine breath with movement, helping to stimulate our muscles, internal organs and areas of tension. This is a great class to begin your day. (1 hour)

Restorative Yoga:   This class is ideal in learning how to slow the mind and body down before retiring for the evening. We learn to explore Yoga asanas or postures with more heart opening benefits, while freeing the mind of the chatter and stress. Helping to fully nurture, stretch, and relieve the body with those areas of stored up tension. (1 hour)

Intro Flow Yoga: Our Intro flow class helps to combine the basics of yoga with breath and movement through an energizing and restorative approach. This class energetically feeds the entire body mentally and physically by gaining more strength, flexibility and balance. (1 hour)

Chair Yoga:   Chair Yoga is geared for individuals who have limited range of motion, strength, balance or flexibility. This class is suitable for people of all ages, by helping to guide individuals who need more assistance from recent surgery, injury, weight issues, current or previous illness. Chair Yoga is also a productive choice for many seniors looking to try something different.  Compared to our other Yoga classes offered at our studio this class is slower moving, and less challenging. (45 minutes)

Kids Yoga:  This fun and inspiring class is suitable for kids of all ages. It is most ideal for kids 3 years and up, parents are more than welcome to join their child in this fun class. We learn to use our breath to help relax our minds. We take a journey in our yoga studio with fun animal and nature poses. Kids Yoga helps children focus, have better attention, self esteem, and to communicate well with each other. (45 minutes)

Guided Meditation:   Allow yourself to relax, unwind, and recline comfortably in our studio.  We take you on a gentle visual journey as this guided meditation helps to significantly reduce stress and increase the immune system response. We learn to use our breath to guide us with higher levels of oxygen, as this results in lower stress hormones, and a calm mind and physical body by softening of the face, cycling of the breath and settling in our own space. (45 minutes)
